Five Year Milestones

Where should I begin, as always Carter was his usual talkative self at his five year check up, asking the doctor all sorts of questions.  What do you use that for? Why are you doing that?  Will I have to get a shot?  (He asked that last one like ten times and did not like the answer much either.)  He put on his brave face and did great until right before the nurse went in for the kill, then all hell broke loose.  He was however very excited to learn that it will be his last shot for a long time, I figure I would wait until later to tell him that he still has to get his flu shot come fall.  He was also elated that he is now ready for kindergarten, now if there only there was a shot to help me get ready!

Since birth Carter has been at or near the top of the growth charts both in height and weight and he is still holding strong in the 90th percentile, at 48 pounds and 45 and ½ inches tall.  A few other milestones…

·  His two middle, lower teeth are loose, get ready tooth fairy it won’t be long now
·  He has started the process of learning to ride his bike WITHOUT training wheels
·  His writing is getting better all the time
·  Can count to 100 with a little help
·  He tells very detailed and amazing stories
·  Is becoming more independent
·  Has significantly decreased his napping, which was legendary, sometimes three to four hours on the weekends
·  Has become more helpful around the house
·  He still has his temper and we are working on the bouts of whining
·  He is a very good big brother
