Is defined as someone who is resistant, difficult, and persistent in an opinion, task or idea also known as Chase in our household. I don’t know if it’s because he is three or if this is just a developing part of his little personality shining through. Let’s all say a little prayer that it is the first. I am thinking back to when Carter was three and I remember it was a more challenging and difficult age than the terrible twos. Carter has always been more easy-going, reasonable and easier to manage. Maybe it is the whole birth order thing coming into play but man Chase is really pushing my limits lately. If you say up, he wants it down, if you say we are leaving, he wants to stay, if you say it is hot, he says he is cold and on and on and on. We have been butting heads a lot, probably because we are so much alike in that sense, or so I have been told. I too am stubborn, what can I say, I want what I want. I just haven’t had much direct competition until now. I find myself taking a lot of s l o w deep breaths lately. I am finding new ways to deal with his "personality" but it is definitely a work in progress. I need to allow more time, I try to give him more options so he can make decisions, I even use reverse psychology which often works quite well. Tell him he doesn’t need to wear his jacket (when in fact he really does) and low and behold he insists on wearing it. Crisis averted.
